Discussion/Action Items:

  1. Superintendent Thompson had met with the Transportation committee last week. They discussed leasing a bus

from Mid States School Bus Inc. The lease would be a nine month lease for $1,000 a month with unlimited miles. Currently, the school has no back up buses in case of a breakdown or buses to take for activities if the route buses are still on routes. Fritz moved to approve the nine month lease with Mid States School Bus for $1,000 a month for a 2011 Blue Bird 71 passenger bus. Seconded by Hanefeldt. RCV: 5-0. Fanta excused. Motion Carried. The board then discussed possibly leasing the bus barn. Kuhlman moved to leave the bus barn for $350 a month for a year. Seconded by Fritz. RCV: 5-0. Fanta excused. Motion Carried.

  2. The board also reviewed the “Return to School Plan.” The different colors were explained. Students and staff have done a great job wearing masks. The plan will continue to be changed and adapted as time progresses.

At 7:58 p.m., Kuhlman moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Fritz. RCV: 5-0. Fanta excused. Motion carried. The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Library.
