By Hollie Macke

On Friday, April 19th, Creighton’s band and choir took a trip over to Osmond to participate in the 2024 district music contest. There were many excellent and superior ratings for all of the performances. The ratings ranged from ones to twos which are superior. There were several members just shy of receiving a number one: concert band, jazz band, sophomore Deric Sayers, sophomore Payton Schroeder, junior Joseph Barnell with their Woodwind Trio, sophomores Justice Arlington and Jordyn Coutts with their flute and baritone duet, senior Irene Burrell and freshman George Burrell with their trumpet duet, sophomore Ben Johnson with his piano solo, freshman Ian Crockett with a trombone solo, the varsity choir, the bass choir, junior Genevieve Hildebrand with a vocal solo, Payton Schroeder with her Vocal Solo, senior Irene Burrell and sophomore Makenna Milne with their vocal duet, and seniors Autumn Key and Makayla Mitchell with their vocal duet. Not only were there several groups/people receiving twos, there were also several performances that received the highest rating with a one: percussion ensemble, senior Autumn Key with her xylophone solo, sophomore Ella White with a piano solo, the treble choir, senior Irene Burrell with her vocal solo, Junior Joseph Barnell with his vocal solo, and finally sophomore Ben Johnson with his vocal solo. Congratulations to these band and choir members!
