Distinguished Service Award presented to Ron Potter
For the past three years Creighton High School has awarded a Distinguished Service Award, sponsored by the Nebraska State Athletic Administrators Association, to a deserving individual.
Past winners have been Keith Saathoff and Valda Young. Last year's recipient who was honored at the first football game Friday 4, 2009 was Ron Potter.
Ron ran the grocery store and he was a great supporter for CHS's athletic teams. He sponsored watermelon feeds after soap scrimmages, food for hospitality rooms, and Gatorade for teams. Ron also ran a referee crew and worked all CHS's Junior Varsity and Junior High football games for several years. He also helped out at track invitationals and was a big supporter of the wrestling teams.
The plaque reads:
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD presented to RON POTTER.
Presented by Creighton Community Schools in recognition of your outstanding record of service to interscholastic athletics in Nebraska. Congratulations and thank you on behalf of the NSIAAA, our schools, and the many athletes you have served.
Thank you, 2009 Distinguished Service Award Recipient, Ron Potter!
