Eight Athletes Qualify for State Track...

...in 9 different events

CHS had a good day at District Track. They had 8 athletes qualify for state in 9 different events:

Alyssa Kruse
    High Jump 5'3" Ranked first in Class C
    100 meter
    200 meter

Jessica Ripp
    Triple Jump 35'9.25" Ranked first in Class C
    Long Jump 16 7.5" Ranked third in Class C

Shelby Wiebelhaus
    Shot Put

Karlene Sukup
    Pole Vault

Greg Meyer
    100 meter

Boys 4X100 Relay
    Klay Fuchtman, Dylan Walton, Cody Ketelsen, Greg Meyer

In addition we had two athletes who broke school records:

Jill Brady broke the 3200 meter record which was held by Rita Matine and set in 1998. The old record was 13 minutes and 25 seconds, Jill ran it in 13 minutes and 13.7 seconds.

Jessica Ripp broke the triple jump record with a district winning jump of 35 ft 9.25 inches. This eclipses the 1977 mark of 35 feet 9 inches set by Patti Nielsen.
