FCCLA Peer Ed Retreat

Members of the Creighton FCCLA chapter attended the Nebraska Peer Education in the SPOTlight Retreat in Kearney on February 25th, 2019. One member, Emily Carstens, was recognized as a finalist for next year's state peer officer team. At the conference, FCCLA members learned about national programs such as: STOP the Violence, Career Connections, and FACTS, Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety. They had the opportunity to listen to one of America's top youth motivational speakers,Tom Thelen, the founder of the Victimproof Bullying Prevention Program. They learned ways to overcome bullying and avoid a victim's mindset. Hannah Raudsepp, a former FCCLA member, also gave a presentation to the group called "Building Your Business from the Ground Up". In addition, Nebraska State Patrol Sergeant, Dean Riedel, spoke to the group about teens and safe driving.
