Creighton Girls Basketball Ends Season
The Lady Bulldogs Basketball team has officially wrapped up their 2018-2019 season with a record of 9-13, an improvement compared to the past few years. Out of the 14 players, the team had 4 returning starters and a strong contributing freshman group. Kyle Kibbie, the head coach, was assisted by Joe Pfanstiel and Ashley Ketlesen. The Bulldogs played hard all season long and came out with victories over Wausa (2), Bloomfield (2), Plainview, Osmond, Neligh, Clearwater/Orchard, and O'Neill St. Mary's. They ended it in the Sub-District game vs. Crofton, the top seed. The final score was 35-57, a much better score compared to their regular season game they played against the Warriors. Ashtyn Fritz closed her career with a double double leading with 18 points, and 10 rebounds. She also had 3 steals. Maycee Zimmerer scored 11 points and claimed 3 steals. Alaina Farnik, Charlize Wilmes, and Clarissa Becker each scored 2. Clarissa had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and Bryna Fanta contributed 3 steals for the Bulldogs. The team says goodbye to its 3 seniors, Clarissa Becker, Alaina Farnik and Ashtyn Fritz, but is excited to come back next year to see how the team will grow.
