Bulldogs Take on the Wildcats

The Creighton football team played Hartington-Newcastle for the Friday night homecoming game.  The Wildcats came into the bulldog home field with a sold 3-1 record.  The Bulldogs dominated from the start, scoring on the second play of the game.  Thad Hazen ran in a 40 yard jet sweep for a touchdown with Bryce Zimmerer running in the EP for a 8-0 start.  The defense played an outstanding game, allowing the offense to punch it in four more times in the first quarter.    Derek Wortman had a 31 yard TD run on the next possession.  Bryce Z. ran in the EP for a 16-0 score. Then Brian Johnson was wide open and Derek W. Darted him the pig skin for a 35 yard TD pass. Thad H. ran in the EP to make it 24-0.  Then Thad H. caught a pass from Derek W. at the line of scrimmage and ran in the rest of the way with some great blocks to make it 30-0. Bryce Z. ran in to make it 36-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Bryce Z. had a 10 yard run to make it 42-0 in the second quarter. Then the second team offense came in for the rest of the half.  With one minute left in the half, Conner Hammer caught a 35 yard TD pass from Clay Curtis to make it 48-0.  The running clock started in the second half. The Wildcats cradled the ball the whole third quarter, until the bulldogs stopped them to run it back down the field. making it 54-0.  The Wildcats eventually scored a TD against the JV defense in the fourth quarter to have a final score of 54-8.
