Seniors Attend Knox County Government Day

CHS seniors attended the annual Knox County Government Day in Center, NE on Wednesday, April 14. After a brief introduction in the morning, each student was assigned a different county office to follow. Each presenter described their basic day-to-day duties, how they acquired their position, and how they contribute to the county as a whole.
After a brief lunch, students had the opportunity to observe a mock-trial in the Knox County Courtroom. Brandon Borgmann volunteered as the defendant, who was being charged with a Minor In Possession (MIP) charge. Students were allowed to serve on the jury, and after much deliberation, found Brandon to be innocent of the crime.
Students culminated their trip with a stop at Subway for some delicious ice cream before heading back to school.
