X-MAS CONCERT!

The Creighton Music Departments performed in the annual Christmas Concert on Monday, December 5 in the high school gym.
The festive concert began at 7:30 pm with two different medleys performed by the junior high band. One of the medleys was Here Comes Christmas by Strommen, which featured Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer; Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town; Here Comes Santa Claus; and Jingle Bells. The other medley performed was A Holiday Swing Along by Murtha, which included Frosty the Snowman, and Jingle Bells.
The junior high band was followed by three songs done by the junior high choir. They sang Christmas is a Feeling by Sleeth; Behold, a Tiny Baby by Lightfoot; and Calypso Noel by Spevacek.
The varsity choir then sang Sleepers, Wake by Spevacek; Silent Night by Peterson; Welcome, Welcome Winter by Gilpin; and Beautiful December by Bernon. Afterwards, the varsity show choir gave a stellar performance of The 12 Pains of Christmas. Junior varsity choir member Jenna Hemenway said, “Overall it went very well, but there is always room for improvement.”
Varsity band then finished the night with a bang. They performed the Murtha medley Holiday Funny Favorites, which included Jingle Bells, Nuttin’ for Christmas, I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, and Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer. Then they played Christmas Bells by Curnow and Deck the Halls with Chips and Salsa by Huckeby.
