New Students of CHS
Creighton Community Schools welcomed three new students to its halls on Thursday, Aug. 19.
Reid Patrick Liska is the 13-year-old son of Pat and Kathi Liska of Verdigre.
Reid last attended school in Verdigre as a seventh grader and has joined us in Creighton for his eighth grade year.
Reid will have to adjust to a larger school system this year. He said one of the best things about Creighton Community Schools is "more kids."
The worst thing about attending school in Creighton, according to Reid, is the fact that he hasn't had a chance to get to know everyone just yet.
Some of Reid's favorite things are motor-cross racing, the color red, and the singer Eminem. His favorite movie and TV show are The Hangover and Sports Center. Bluford High is Reid's favorite book.
Devon Leanne Schade is another addition to the eighth grade class. Rowena Schade and Donny Jensen are the parents of 12-year-old Devon.
Before moving to Creighton, Devon lived in Verdigre.
The best thing about moving to Creighton, according to Devon, is that her friends are here.
When asked what her hobbies were, Devon said, "I like shopping and hanging out with friends."
Devon's favorite things include history, the color lime green, the movie The Hangover, the book Where the Red Fern Grows, and the singers Eminem and Mike Posner. Her favorite TV show is Family Guy.
The only new student in the high school, Juanita Desiree Barner, is the 17-year-old daughter of Rebecca Barner.
Before moving to Creighton, Juanita lived and attended school in Orchard.
According to Juanita, it has been a difficult adjustment to leave her friends.
Running, computer applications, the color yellow, and the singer Jason Aldean are some of Juanita's favorite things. Her favorite movie and book are Twilight.
