Physics class experiment

Air Car Racing

by Troy Becker and Kevin

October 16, 2007

In Physics class we built cars for racing.  After constructing the cars out of various materials, we did many tests on the wind powered cars.

First, we raced them to find out which car was the fastest.  Then, using the fastest car, we determined the amount of force applied by the 9 Volt Battery propelled engine. Using a Ticker Timer, we found the acceleration of the air car.

After all of the hard scientific preparation and study, we found all means necessary to destroy our vehicles.  Some people ramped them off of tall places, while others threw them at the wall of the gym.  This proved to be the best part of the lab.
