Vball girls compete in the Boone Central Tournament

On September 8, 2007, the Creighton Volleyball Varsity team traveled to Albion, NE where they participated in the Boone Central Tournament. The games played where the best out of three sets.

1st game- Creighton vs. Albion        Winner: Albion

     Katie Demuth: Did an awesome job with 5 digs, 34 good sets, 11 set assists, 2 good blocks, 1 good spike, and 8 good serves.

     Rachel Suhr: This quick lebrero got on the floor with 7 digs, 14 good passes and 11 good serves.

     Amber Thomas: On the court Thomas came out with 4 good passes, 4 kills, 5 good serves,1 ace and two good blocks.

     Brandi Sorensen: This sophomore showed her stuff with 8 good passes, 1 kill, 6 good serves, and one good set.  

     Darleen Avdoyan: Dar played good defense with 7 good passes and 1 good serve.

     Krista Nelson: This power hitter had 4 good passes and  4 kills.

    Lisa Smith: Lisa came out with 6 kills, 1 good set, and 2 ace blocks.

     Amber Smith: This all around hitter had 15 good passes, 4 kills, 1 ace, and 2 good blocks.

     Jessica Ripp: Jess came off the bench and made some points with 1 kill and 1 ace block.

     Ally VonSeggern: Ally got in the action with 2 good serves.

2nd game: Central City        Winner: Creighton

      Katie Demuth: Katie used her speed and resulted in 1 kill, 4 good serves, 15 set assists, 1 good block, and 1 dig.

     Rachel Suhr: Our red hot lebrero got on the floor with 3 aces and 2 digs.

     Amber Thomas: On the court Thomas came out with 5 kills and 2 aces.

     Brandi Sorensen: As a right-side hitter, B got 1 kill, 1 set assist, and 1 good block. 

     Darleen Avdoyan: In the back row, Dar came out with 6 good passes. 

     Krista Nelson: This power hitter pounded out 6 kills on the opponent's floor.

     Lisa Smith: Lisa came out with 5 kills and 3 good blocks.

     Amber Smith: This all around player had 1 kill, 3 good blocks, and 7 good passes.

     Jessica Ripp: Jess came off the bench with 1 good spike and serve.

     Ally VonSeggern: Ally got in the action with 8 good serves.

3rd game (Championship):Schyler     Winner: Schyler

     Katie Demuth: This setter competed on the court and came out with 12 set assists.

     Rachel Suhr: Defense specialist, Rach, had 7 good serves and 9 digs.

     Amber Thomas: On the court Thomas came out with 3 kills, 4 good serves, 1 good set, and 1 ace block.

     Brandi Sorensen: In this game, Brandi had 1 kill, 1 set assist, 3 good serves, and 2 perfect passes.

     Darleen Avdoyan: Dar played good defense with 1 dig and 4 good passes.

     Krista Nelson: Kris showed her excitement after 1 kill, 1 ace block, and 3 good spikes.

     Lisa Smith: Lisa came out with 5 kills, 1 dig, 2 ace blocks, and 1 set assist.

     Amber Smith: This all around hitter had 3 kills, 1 dig, and 6 perfect passes.

     Jessica Ripp: Jess came off the bench and made some points with 1 kill and 2 ace serves.

     Ally VonSeggern: Ally got in the action with 6 good serves and 1 ace serve.

Overall, the Creighton volleyball team placed second and received a silver medal. Considering Creighton was the smallest school there, the team didn't do too bad after their third week of their volleyball season.
